MORE ABOUT THE FARMERS
The partnership between Gold Mountain and Don Francisco and Blanca Nieve began at a time when both farms were members of a certified cooperative that suffered from mismanagement and did not allow enough income for farming families. Gold Mountain stepped in, providing financial support and market access. This assistance enabled them to expand their original farm, El Diamante, threefold and acquire a second farm. Collaborating with Gold Mountain also led to improvements in their wet mill and the production of a high-quality specialty coffee, comparable to small microlots, suitable for both espresso and pour-over brewing methods.
